The Role

TimelyCare is seeking a Staff UX Researcher to establish, scale, and operationalize research as a core product capability across the organization.

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Product Design, acting as a force multiplier leading high-impact research on priority initiatives while building the infrastructure, tools, and enablement needed for product managers and designers to conduct routine research independently.

This role is accountable for ensuring that research happens at the speed of product development, is visible across teams, and directly influences product decisions before build. This position is ideal for a researcher who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building systems from the ground up, and is equally comfortable conducting rigorous research and shaping org-wide practices.

Location

TimelyCare’s primary location is Fort Worth, Texas. This is a remote position, reviewing candidates across the country.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead High-Impact Research

  • Lead generative and evaluative research for TimelyCare’s highest-priority initiatives (e.g., TimelyPulse, K-12, BasicNeeds).

  • Design and execute mixed-methods studies including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and concept validation.

  • Translate complex qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights that inform roadmap and strategy decisions.

  • Build Research Infrastructure

  • Establish and maintain participant recruitment programs (e.g., Student Voice and Administrator Voice).

  • Create and evolve research templates, interview guides, synthesis frameworks, and documentation.

  • Partner with the Data team to expand and improve AI-powered internal research tools that surface insights from existing customer and member data.

  • Define standards for research quality, data hygiene, and ethical participant engagement.

  • Enable Self-Service Research at Scale

  • Train product managers and designers on research methods, tier selection, and best practices.

  • Provide coaching, office hours, and lightweight quality reviews for team-led research.

  • Develop guidance on when AI-powered research is sufficient and when escalation to direct user research is required.

  • Synthesize and Communicate Insights

  • Establish regular synthesis and communication rhythms so insights are shared across Product, Product Marketing, and Customer Success.

  • Create concise insight briefs and lead research readouts that connect findings to business and product decisions.

  • Ensure research outcomes are visible, searchable, and reusable across teams.

  • Partner Cross-Functionally

  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing and Customer Success to ensure shared access to customers and aligned engagement.

  • Support leadership with evidence-based input during roadmap planning, prioritization, and strategic discussions.

  • Represent the research perspective in cross-functional forums and planning conversations.

  • Performs additional tasks and projects as needed to support the evolving needs of team objectives and company goals.

What You Bring

  • Required

  • 7+ years of UX research experience, with demonstrated impact on product direction and outcomes.

  • Experience building or scaling a research practice, program, or operating model—especially in growing or evolving organizations.

  • Strong command of both generative and evaluative research methods.

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate insights clearly and persuasively.

  • Comfort working with ambiguity and defining structure where none exists.

  • Familiarity with or enthusiasm for AI-powered research tools and modern synthesis workflows.

  • Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthcare, education, or B2B2C environments.

  • Hands-on experience with participant recruitment operations and incentive programs.

  • Familiarity with tools and data sources such as Gong, Salesforce, Pendo, or similar platforms.

  • Experience training non-researchers to conduct high-quality research.

Who You Are

  • The ideal Staff UX Researcher is a pragmatic builder. They understand that organizational leverage matters as much as methodological rigor. They move quickly without sacrificing quality, know when “good enough” research is sufficient, and focus relentlessly on enabling better decisions—not producing artifacts for their own sake.
